Kofi Annan (Ghana)

We are forever indebted to the service and leadership of Kofi Annan, who passed away in August 2018. He was Secretary-General of the United Nations at the time of our founding in 1998, and served on our Board from 2007 until his passing. Gro Harlem Brundtland (Norway)

VICE CHAIR OF THE UN FOUNDATION BOARD OF DIRECTORS; FORMER PRIME MINISTER, NORWAY; DIRECTOR-GENERAL EMERITUS, WORLD HEALTH ORGANIZATION

Dr. Gro Harlem Brundtland is a physician and politician. She is the former Prime Minister of Norway and served as Director-General of the World Health Organization from 1998 to 2003.

Timothy E. Wirth (USA)

VICE CHAIR OF THE UN FOUNDATION BOARD OF DIRECTORS; FORMER U.S. SENATOR, COLORADO

Senator Timothy E. Wirth is the Vice Chair of the UN Foundation’s Board of Directors. Prior to this role, Senator Wirth served for 15 years as the founding President of the UN Foundation and the Better World Fund. He served as a member of the U.S. House of Representatives from 1975 to 1987 and as a U.S. Senator from 1986-1993.

Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah is the Queen of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. Her Majesty supports initiatives that aim to improve the livelihood of various sectors of society in Jordan and beyond. Her activities encompass issues such as education, health, youth, and the environment.

DIRECTOR OF THE SCHOOL OF ORIENTAL & AFRICAN STUDIES (SOAS), UNIVERSITY OF LONDON

Baroness Valerie Amos is the Director of the School of Oriental & African Studies (SOAS) at the University of London. From 2010 to 2015, Baroness Amos served as Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator at the United Nations.
