Monika Johnson manages youth engagement initiatives for the United Nations Association of the USA, a program of the UN Foundation. Her work focuses on elevating the youth voice in building public support for the UN among Americans through advocacy, partnerships, and constituency building. Prior to joining the UN Foundation, she held positions with the US Forest Service International Programs office and the Nothing But Nets campaign to end malaria deaths in Africa. Previously, Monika worked as the Midwest Regional Coordinator for the Roosevelt Institute Campus Network, where her work on innovation in the region gained attention from TIME and Michigan Public Radio. Originally from Durango, CO, she completed a dual BA in International Relations and Asian Studies at Michigan State University. Monika is an avid traveler and recently returned from La Ciudad Perdida, an ancient city in the mountains of Colombia. Fun Fact: Monika brews her own beer.
