CEO, Global Partnership for Sustainable Development Data

Jenna Slotin is the CEO of the Global Partnership for Sustainable Development Data. The Global Partnership brings together government, international organizations, private sector, academic, and civil society partners leveraging the power of data to change minds, policies, and lives for the better. Jenna is proud to have been with the Global Partnership since its establishment, shaping the growth of the organization from a network of 50 partners and a secretariat of four staff to over 700 partners and up to 30 staff at its peak. She served as Senior Director of Policy for nine years crafting and leading the Global Partnership’s policy and advocacy agenda. Now as CEO, she leads the delivery of the organization’s strategy and supports its outstanding team as they work with partners to strengthen the data systems needed for the digital age.

Jenna’s earlier career combined policy work with organizational leadership. Prior to the Global Partnership, she was Director of Sustainable Development Policy at the United Nations Foundation, where she built alliances among governments and civil society and led high-level convenings to raise ambition in the negotiations that produced the Sustainable Development Goals. She has worked in several UN roles and on UN policy issues, including leading a local governance program at UNDP in Kosovo and conducting research and policy analysis on peacebuilding, state fragility and the UN’s peacebuilding architecture at the International Peace Institute. Jenna led organizational development at Building Markets where she also oversaw projects across Liberia, Timor-Leste, and Myanmar, which connected local businesses to contracts from aid agencies and multinational corporations, helping drive inclusive economic growth in post-crisis settings. Jenna holds a master’s degree in international affairs from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs and a Bachelor of Arts in Peace and Conflict Studies from the University of Toronto. She is a board trustee of Publish What You Fund and Chair of the WorldPop Advisory Board.
