Senior Fellow
Eugene Chen is a Senior Fellow at the United Nations Foundation whose research focuses on the interplay of substantive policy, intergovernmental politics, and bureaucratic processes at the UN in the areas of peace and security and institutional reform.
Before joining the UN Foundation, Eugene served in various roles in the UN Secretariat, including work in the Executive Office of the Secretary-General, the UN Mission for Justice Support in Haiti, the Department of Field Support, and the Department of Peacekeeping Operations. He has also consulted for the Office of the Secretary-General’s Envoy on Technology, the Department of Political and Peacebuilding Affairs, the Department of Peace Operations, and the United Nations Development Programme. Earlier in his career, Eugene served as an advisor on UN management and reform at the United States Mission to the United Nations.
