H.E. Mr. Ban Ki-moon
New York, NY 10017
Dear Secretary-General Ban:
I commend your five-year vision that you outlined to the General Assembly this week. It lays out an ambitious, but achievable agenda for solving our most pressing global problems. I applaud your efforts to develop an increasingly modern, flexible, and efficient United Nations capable of responding to the most interconnected challenges. Just as today’s toughest issues know no borders, our solutions must transcend boundaries and involve all of our world’s stakeholders.
As Founder and Chairman of the United Nations Foundation and as a Millennium Development Goals Advocate, I look forward to working with you to help advance your goals to create a better world for people everywhere. I could not agree more with your focus on building and strengthening partnerships and believe it is key to delivering a better future for the world’s seven billion citizens.
The UN Foundation remains dedicated to connecting people with the lifesaving work of the UN. Never before have so many people been part of campaigns and initiatives that support the work of the UN’s mission. Together, with these constituencies, we will identify and create innovative solutions to secure peace and human rights, advance sustainable development, create a new energy future, fight disease, and empower women and girls. The UN Foundation is honored to work with you and the UN staff worldwide to foster a more peaceful, prosperous and just world.
Please let me know how we can be supportive in reaching these important goals.
With best wishes,
