On the sidelines of the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly, the Co-operative Republic of Guyana and the Republic of Burundi, in collaboration with the Africa Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Pan American Health Organization, and with support from the United Nations Foundation, will convene Heads of State, ministers, international organizations, financing institutions, and development partners from Africa and the Americas for a high-level discussion on financing pandemic prevention, preparedness, and response.
The event will highlight the urgent need for sustained investment in pandemic prevention, preparedness, and response as a cornerstone of global health security, economic resilience, and sustainable development.
