The Secretary-General’s influence is often misunderstood. Neither executive ruler nor symbolic figurehead, the role operates through convening, coordination, and agenda-setting. This dialogue explored how the Secretary-General turns global attention into collective action — aligning governments, civil society, young people, and other actors around shared priorities. Speakers discussed how coordination translates into outcomes people can actually feel and what determines whether cooperation produces real impact.
