Introduction to the 78th World Health Assembly: Critical Perspectives on Multilateralism in Global Health in 2025

At the 78th World Health Assembly (WHA78), countries will come together to debate and decide on key health priorities and policies in an unpredictable environment driven by changing population demographics, shifting disease burdens, and increasing risks of health emergencies. This annual open briefing, co-hosted by the Geneva Graduate Institute’s Global Health Centre (GHC) and the United Nations Foundation, will give a preview of the modalities and relevant topics that will be discussed at WHA78, including negotiations on the Pandemic Accord.
