10:00AM EDT - 11:00AM EDT

hosted by Rabin Martin

To mark the occasion of the 76th United Nations General Assembly, Rabin Martin will host a conversation with UNAIDS Deputy Executive Director, Shannon Hader about the colliding pandemics of HIV/AIDS and COVID-19. Rabin Martin CEO Robert L. Mallett will moderate the discussion, exploring critical topics on the impact COVID-19 has had, if any, on AIDS research, testing, and treatment, and how to ensure that decades of progress against HIV/AIDS will not be irrevocably slowed. The conversation will also explore ways in which COVID-19 has altered the public health landscape for HIV/AIDS and other global health challenges – for better and for worse. While health systems have been strained, there have also been developments stemming from the pandemic that could benefit the HIV/AIDS response, including emerging technologies and a renewed international focus on global health.
