We are exactly four weeks away from #GivingTuesday, a global day of giving. What I love about #GivingTuesday is the incredible sense of community the day inspires – a community of giving reflecting a community of people who know that a simple donation can make a world of difference.
On December 2, Shot@Life supporters will be gathering in communities across the country to call on their friends and family to stand up for childhood and give a gift of $5 to Shot@Life. With every gift of $5, Shot@Life can help provide a child in a developing country access to the pneumococcal vaccine.
Every year, pneumonia kills an estimated 1.1 million children under the age of 5. This disease hits hardest in communities weakened by poverty. Malnutrition and undernourishment leave babies without the ability to fight infection.
We are excited that MAM USA has joined us in this effort. MAM USA has a strong faith in the power of a shared network of moms helping moms. They also share our desire to give babies the best start in life. With their voice and support, along with the hundreds of Shot@Life supporters across the country, we hope to make a huge impact as we stand up for childhood and support the work of the UN and partners to provide access to life-saving vaccines to children around the globe.
