This weekend I will be heading to Austin, Texas for the SXSW Social Good Hub (SXgood Hub, for short) to connect with innovators who are driving change around the world. This is the third year that SXSW and the United Nations Foundation are coming together to host a two-day program to highlight ways that music, film, and interactive content inspires people to take action for social change. Whether or not you are able to be there in person, there are many opportunities to get involved and learn about issues related to the United Nations’ global goals for sustainable development and to connect to the change makers at the forefront of social good.
Here are four ways to join the social good conversation – or #SXgood – at SXSW on March 14 and 15:
1. SXgood Hub
From witnessing the sobering realities of life as a Syrian refugee through a 360° virtual reality experience to building a nebulizer powered by a bicycle foot pump, the SXgood Hub will enable participants to experience how technology is driving new forms of communication and social change. Hosted at the Palm Door on Sixth, the SXgood Hub will engage people through a variety of special events, panels, workshops, and more. The SXgood Hub is the ONE spot in Austin that is wholly dedicated to social good – bringing together participants from across all the SXSW audience groups under one roof to focus on social change.

2. SXgood Panels
In addition to the main SXgood Hub, additional social good programming will be hosted at the JW Marriott. Entrepreneurism, poverty, gender equality, crisis management, arts, communications…whatever your passion, the SXgood panels will provide an opportunity to connect with leaders and share your own personal story.
