Next Generation India Fellows Lead
Prachi Shevgaonkar is a Climate Innovator and the founder of an award-winning app for climate action called Cool The Globe. To date, users from 110 countries have come together on the app and saved 2 million kilograms of emissions. Prachi has been honored by the Finance Minister of India, Nirmala Sitaraman, as the Young Change-maker of the year. She is the youngest and first Indian citizen to be appointed on the advisory board of Climate Leadership Coalition, along with the former Prime Minister of Finland. Google made a TV campaign inspired by her journey building the Cool The Globe app. She serves as Climate Change Advisor to Tata Power and all its subsidiaries. She is also a founding member of the Global Youth Council with the President of Colombia and Nobel Peace Laureate Juan Manuel Santos, formed to address existential threats to the global community. Prachi represented India at COP27 where she received the COP27 Young Scholar Award from the Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav. She spent a year traveling across India, covering stories of youth, farmers, and waste-picker communities to understand the impact of climate change in day-to-day lives of people. She has been mobilizing citizens to tackle climate change through technology, advocacy and grass-root action.
