Patricia Sanchez Bao is a Director of Global Health at the United Nations Foundation, where she leads efforts to advance global health and equity through advocacy, partnership, and resource mobilization. Based in Washington, D.C., Patricia directs the Foundation’s work to support malaria elimination in Latin America and the Caribbean and plays a key role in advancing the Foundation’s engagement on climate and health. She collaborates with partners across the UN system, governments, and civil society to promote integrated solutions that improve health outcomes and strengthen community resilience. Throughout her career, Patricia’s recommendations – grounded in a deep understanding of stakeholder perspectives – have informed capacity-building programs and improved performance across public and private sectors. She has extensive experience advancing human development for Indigenous, women, and other vulnerable populations, and brings expertise in international development, corporate social responsibility, public-private partnerships, knowledge management, and strategic communications. Patricia holds a master’s degree in Cultural Anthropology from the University of Virginia, as well as a Licenciatura in Social Anthropology and a bachelor’s in Social Sciences from the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú.
