Javed Khan is the Senior Manager, Finance and Grants, for the Global Health team at United Nations Foundation. Javed has more than 20 years of experience in international development focused on operations and finance, and has worked closely with NGOs throughout the health sector. He began his career in Afghanistan as an accountant and later worked at the United Nations, based out of the Resident Coordinator Office, where he was part of the operations management team and led point for other UN agencies’ funds and programs. Additionally, Javed worked for the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) as a financial analyst and budget specialist backstopping the offices of Health and Education. These experiences gave him a broader understanding of finance and operations at the UN and USAID, as well as NGOs. Throughout his career, Javed has also worked with the World Bank, the Global Fund, Gave Alliance, Cordaid, and has gained a deeper understanding of budgeting methods and reporting. Most recently, he worked at ICF where he handled the finances, subcontracting, and purchasing issues.
