Associate Vice President, Global Communications
Sueann Tannis is Associate Vice President, Global Communications at the United Nations Foundation. In this role, she serves as the UN Foundation’s integrated marketing communications strategist.
Sueann has held communications roles at International Financial Institutions, focused on issues including climate action, economic development, gender equality, and sustainable energy. She last served as Head of Corporate Communications in the President’s Office at the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB). Prior to joining CDB, she advised on digital communications for a $500 million World Bank trust fund dedicated to maternal and child health.
Prior to her career in international development, Sueann held communications roles spanning the financial services, luxury real estate and retail, and tourism sectors.
She holds a master’s degree in Public Relations from Georgetown University, and a bachelor’s degree in Communication and Culture from Howard University.
Sueann is a proud 2021-2022 member of the Forbes Communications Council and a two-time Jury President at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity. She has been featured in Ad Age, Adweek, and Forbes.
Sueann is an avid speaker, writer, and content creator on career development, girls’ education, and the small island developing states experience. She is also a champion for the arts.
