Chief Operating Officer
Henry De Sio is the United Nations Foundation’s Chief Operating Officer. Bringing a long and distinguished record of excellence in organizational leadership, Henry previously served as the 2008 Chief Operating Officer of Barack Obama’s historic presidential campaign and went on to be appointed White House Deputy Assistant to the President for Management and Administration.
Upon completing his White House service in 2011, Henry joined Ashoka Innovators for the Public as a Leadership Group Member, where for seven years he led worldwide strategic communications and advocacy. Henry has also held leadership positions at the Harvard Kennedy School and Minderoo Foundation.
Henry earned his B.A. in Political Science from U.C. Santa Barbara and a master’s degree in Public Administration from Harvard’s Kennedy School. He is a 2017 Rockefeller Bellagio Resident Fellow on Youth as Agents of Transformative Change, a Fundación Innovación Bankinter Fellow on Harnessing the Power of Technology to Solve Inequality, and the first Visiting Scholar at the Peter Underwood Centre for Educational Attainment, University of Tasmania (2016).
