THE COVID-19 SOLIDARITY RESPONSE FUND IMPACT

In March 2020, the United Nations Foundation and the Swiss Philanthropy Foundation created the COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund for the World Health Organization.

In its first year, the COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund helped mobilize more than $242 million from more than 660,000 individuals, organizations, and philanthropies. These resources were rapidly deployed to where they were needed most, helping to provide more than 270 million pieces of personal protective equipment and medical supplies, more than 19 million COVID-19 tests, and critical support to WHO and partners’ efforts to prevent, detect, and respond to the pandemic around the world.

Browse this page for stories of impact from the frontlines of the crisis, conversations with experts, the ongoing work by partners to support WHO’s essential work, and more.

NOTE: From March 2021, the UN Foundation transferred administration of the COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund to the WHO Foundation. Learn more.
