United Nations Foundation Founder and Chairman Ted Turner Applauds United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon’s Five-year Vision

United Nations Foundation Founder and Chairman Ted Turner in a letter this week applauded United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon for his five-year vision, and offered the UN Foundation’s support in helping the Secretary-General and UN staff advance these important goals.  In today’s interconnected world, it is more important than ever to develop partnerships with governments, businesses, non-profits, and individuals to support the lifesaving work of the UN and extend its global reach.  The full text of the letter is below:

Dear Secretary-General Ban:

I commend your five-year vision that you outlined to the General Assembly this week.  It lays out an ambitious, but achievable agenda for solving our most pressing global problems.  I applaud your efforts to develop an increasingly modern, flexible, and efficient United Nations capable of responding to the most interconnected challenges. Just as today’s toughest issues know no borders, our solutions must transcend boundaries and involve all of our world’s stakeholders.

As Founder and Chairman of the United Nations Foundation and as a Millennium Development Goals Advocate, I look forward to working with you to help advance your goals to create a better world for people everywhere. I could not agree more with your focus on building and strengthening partnerships and believe it is key to delivering a better future for the world’s seven billion citizens.
