Over 20 years on from the adoption of the United Nations Security Council Resolution 1325 on Women, Peace and Security, it is well established that security challenges have specific impacts on women and girls, and that when women have a seat at the table, peace processes lead to better and more sustainable outcomes. This meeting will consider the gendered impacts of security challenges in Africa and the Indo-Pacific, as well as the role of the United Nations in implementing two decades’ worth of Security Council Resolutions on Women, Peace and Security.
