Member States of the World Health Organization (WHO) requested that the Director-General reflect on progress since the Commission on the Social Determinants of Health Report and make recommendations for future actions in a new World Report.
The World Report was presented in three sections:
The context and the problem, linking major crises including climate change, conflict, COVID-19, unfair economic systems and discrimination.
The ‘What’ and the ‘How,’ which included around a dozen illustrative and specific intervention areas, including pathways for implementation.
An Action Agenda for the next decade on social determinants of health equity and the specific role of different constituencies.
