The United Nations Environment Programme and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization are organising in close collaboration with the European Union (European Commission – Directorate General for the Environment) the first high-level meeting of GACERE, the Global Alliance on Circular Economy and Resource Efficiency, as a side event of the upcoming World Circular Economy Forum.
The first GACERE high-level meeting will provide GACERE membership with the opportunity to convene and take stock of progress in the Alliance’s work since its launch in February 2021 and agree on future priorities. More specifically, the high-level meeting will provide an opportunity for GACERE members to discuss progress in the development of knowledge products highlighting the interlinkages between circular economy and climate change, green recovery, and possibly biodiversity. The high-level meeting will also facilitate the discussion of current experiences in promoting a just transition to a resource-efficient and circular economy in GACERE member countries and of existing gaps and barriers for which the Alliance’s support would be instrumental.
