This side event, hosted by the Pan-American Health Organization (PAHO/WHO), alongside the UN Foundation, the South-East Asia Regional Office of WHO, and the Wellcome Trust, brought together Heads of State and Government’s to identify equitable pathways to implementing the 2024 Political Declaration on Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) to ensure developing countries benefit from global action.
This ambitious and actionable Political Declaration is expected to steer the AMR policy agenda for years to come, with considerable political momentum generated on the way to the AMR high-level meeting. To set forth a framework for immediate and future efforts, this event prioritized diverse perspectives on AMR to address disproportionate impacts on persons living in situations of vulnerability.
