The Rockefeller Foundation and Amref Health Africa are hosting a panel discussion showcasing how intra- and cross-country collaboration can accelerate vaccine uptake in Africa, to be held on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly 2022.
Global uptake of Covid-19 vaccines is impacted by complex demand barriers including limited access to vaccination centers, waning concerns about Covid-19 infection, and limited trust in health systems. Across Africa, increasing vaccination rates for Covid-19 and beyond remains an urgent priority for health and government leaders. However, spaces to share lessons learned, develop tailored strategies and align on best practices are few and far between. UNGA provides a critical opportunity to gather relevant stakeholders for these dialogues. In this session, we’ll hear from Ministry of Health representatives, funders, and practitioners about what it will take to ramp up Africa’s vaccination rate and build sustainable immunization systems moving forward.
