Adolescent girls have the power to transform their families, communities, and our world. But in order to do so, they need the education, tools, and services to transform their own lives.

Unfortunately, far too many girls cannot reach their full potential because of a lack of sexual and reproductive health and rights. They are often forced into early marriage, drop out of school, and have children before their bodies are ready.

This World Population Day, let’s work to change this reality. By prioritizing sexual and reproductive health and rights, girls can stay in school, pursue an income, and start a family when they are ready. This has a ripple effect, starting with healthier girls and women, which creates stronger families, more prosperous communities, and a better world for us all. That’s the future that I want – and it starts with her rights.
