World Pneumonia Day on November 12 is a day to raise awareness about a disease that kills more than 900,000 children each year – more than from any other infectious disease.

In the countdown to World Pneumonia Day, the United Nations Foundation’s Shot@Life campaign is working to ensure that people understand the severity of this global problem through the initiative “Pneumonia: 12 Days of Impact.”

Every day from November 1-12, Shot@Life is sharing a piece of content from vaccine experts, in-country health care providers, and citizens making a difference for children around the globe.

Pneumonia accounts for 15% of all deaths of children under 5 years old. Vaccinations are an effective method of preventing this dangerous disease, and the United Nations and vaccine partners are working hard to better understand vaccination barriers, design appropriate interventions, and implement innovative solutions that will lead to higher immunization rates.

We need your help.

Join us in our countdown to World Pneumonia Day by posting to your own message about why you believe in the power of global vaccines, and share it on social media using #vaccineswork. We will share them on social media in an effort to raise awareness of this important issue.
