Protiva’s areas of interest are education, gender and rural development. At the Centre for Budget and Governance Accountability, she leads research on government financing of education. She also contributes substantively to our efforts towards engaging with multi-lateral policymaking fora such as G20 and BRICS. Prior to joining CBGA, she has worked as an Economist at the Policy Group of Infrastructure Development Finance Company Ltd. (IDFC). She has also worked as a Consultant at the National Institute of Public Finance and Policy (NIPFP). She has a Ph.D. and an M.Phil. degree in Economics from Jawaharlal Nehru University and a Master's degree in Economics from University of Calcutta.
