Dr. Ana Elena Chévez is the Regional Immunization Advisor for polio at the Pan American Health Organization/World Health Organization (PAHO/WHO) and supports the 52 countries and territories of the Americas maintain polio-free status. Prior to this role, Dr. Chévez has served as the national immunization program manager in El Salvador, the PAHO/WHO immunization focal point in Guatemala and Paraguay, and dedicated four years of her career to support polio eradication efforts in Nigeria working at the WHO-Nigeria country office as the Supplementary Immunization Activity (SIA) coordinator.
