Senior Adviser, Ocean and Climate
Justin Kenney has more than 25 years of experience bridging strategic communications and conservation solutions in government, philanthropy, and advocacy. He served as communications director for NOAA in the Obama Administration and as deputy communications director at the White House Council on Environmental Quality in the Clinton Administration. He directed communications for the environment programs of the Pew Charitable Trusts and Walton Family Foundation, with a focus on oceans, lands, and climate change programs. He was the director of communications for the Pew Ocean Commission, the first independent review of federal ocean policy in more than 30 years, and for NOAA’s National Marine Sanctuary Program. Justin earned a master’s in public communication from American University and his bachelor’s from the University of Iowa.
