New York, NY – On November 8, the UN FoundationBabyCenter and ABC News, will host the Million Moms Challenge Baby Shower for Global Good; a conversation on children’s health with moms and people who care about moms.

During the 9:00-10:00am EST hour, experts from UNICEF, ABC News, the UN Foundation and the Motherhood will make brief remarks on the phone and on Twitter on why children’s health is so important and share some of their personal experiences with children around the world. An interactive question and answer session on the phone and Twitter will follow the discussion.

This hour-long discussion is part of the 8-hour-long online party that will be held on Twitter (#amillionmoms) and in the BabyCenter Community. It aims to raise awareness for underserved moms and children around the globe while promoting the recently launched Million Moms Challenge, a joint effort of ABC News and the UN Foundation with support from corporate sponsor Johnson & Johnson.

About the United Nations Foundation
The United Nations Foundation, a public charity, was created in 1998 with entrepreneur and philanthropist Ted Turner’s historic $1 billion gift to support UN causes and activities.  We build and implement public/private partnerships to address the world’s most pressing problems, and work to broaden support for the UN through advocacy and public outreach.  Through our campaigns and partnerships, we connect people, ideas, and resources to help the UN solve global problems.  These campaigns focus on reducing child mortality, empowering women and girls, creating a new energy future, securing peace and human rights, and promoting technology innovation to improve health outcomes.  These solutions are helping the UN advance the eight global targets known as the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).  For more information, visit www.unfoundation.org.
