Rebecca Furst-Nichols is the Deputy Director of Data2X. , working on Women's Economic Empowerment and Data2X. She co-authored A Roadmap for Promoting Women’s Economic Empowerment, which identifies interventions that are proven, promising, and high potential to increase women’s productivity and earnings, and recently, a follow-up guidance note, Measuring Women's Economic Empowerment. She also co-authored a background report for Data2X, Mapping Gender Data Gaps, which articulates the importance of gender data across development domains, identifying key gaps and ways forward to fill the gaps. She supports Data2X’s technical and data partnership work. Prior to joining the UN Foundation, she worked as a Project Manager at the Feinstein International Center, Tufts University where she conducted field research on livelihoods with migrants and refugees and oversaw projects in six sites. She has worked and lived in Tanzania, Uganda, Kenya, France, Ecuador, and Israel. She holds an M.A. in Law and Diplomacy from The Fletcher School, Tufts University.
