Walter Cortés serves as Controller of the United Nations Foundation and Better World Fund. In this role, Mr. Cortes manages the accounting operations and staff of the Foundation.

Mr. Cortés is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) licensed in Washington, DC and has more than 20 years of experience in the areas of accounting, finance, auditing, and loan management. Prior to joining the United Nations Foundation, Mr. Cortes worked for the Pan-American Development Foundation in Washington, DC, as a Controller, United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) in Rome, Italy, as a Loan Administration Officer, and The World Bank also in Washington, DC as an Accounting Team Leader.
